Postpartum navigators fill a huge gap in our maternal healthcare systems. This training supports you in adapting this work to your community and to your life.
Build Your Nest Postpartum Navigators recognize that maternal health is multifaceted and supported by medical, social, and cultural solutions. We support parents by helping them to create a postpartum plan and in accessing important resources throughout the fourth trimester.
This work can be a stand-alone practice or it can be layered with other care that you offer, such as doula work, postpartum care, or midwifery.

Commonly Asked Questions:
Hopefully, these will answer some of the questions you might have. Feel free to reach out (email link) if there is anything else I can answer for you!
Q. I am a postpartum doula, how is this work different?
A. The navigator role is not about in person or practical care. It begins during pregnancy and extends through the third month postpartum. Postpartum doula care can fit within the navigator care.
Q. I’m not a postpartum doula, how do I not seem like I am in competition or stepping on toes?
A. This role is different. You can reach out to postpartum doulas and show that you are ready to refer clients to them. It might be that your client is struggling, so you refer a few postpartum doulas to them. That care lasts, say three weeks, and then you continue checking in with them, supporting them through the third month. Encouraging the care of a postpartum doula becomes part of your care.
