Supporting a Doctor of Nursing Practice Quality Improvement Project
Kestrel supported Joanna Wilder’s DNP project, “Implementing Individualized Patient-Centered Postpartum Planning in the Third Trimester in a Rural Midwifery-first Practice,” which piloted the use of the Build Your Nest one page postpartum planning tool along with other quality improvement strategies.
This project is being presented at Postpartum Support International’s annual Conference and the Martha, hosted by the Oregon American Certified Nurse Midwives.

Co-founding the Perinatal Task Force in Clatsop County
Our local Perinatal Task force is co-founded by Jess Sollaccio MPH, mom, business owner and local elected official. This project initiated with conversations with Way to Wellville and our regional CCO and has continued with the support of (CHART) Community Health and Resource Team. We have organized two Community Baby Showers and look forward to developing a sustainable plan to improve perinatal health outcomes in our region.
Mentoring Portland New Family Fund Latinx Doula Cohort Pilot Project
Kestrel has partnered with Portland New Family Fund (PNFF) to implement postpartum navigation within doula serves for Hispanic families in Multnomah County.
Build Your Nest Postpartum Navigator Pilot Project
This pilot project is community-based program which aims to build family resiliency by supporting perinatal mental health, lactation, bonding, and social connections through postpartum planning and navigation. Fiscally sponsored by Baby Blues Connection with grant funding through the Oregon Community Foundation, Columbia Pacific CCO, and the Office of Rural Health.
